Whatever you think of hip-hop star Professor Green – love, hate, or crushing indifference – it would take the most churlish of viewers to deny the awesomeness of his latest video experiment (one which will undoubtedly become more and more ubiquitous – maybe even standard? – in the world of performance videos).
We’ve seen a lot of interesting developments in online music videos recently – Ok Go have long been knocking ‘em dead with their endlessly innovative viral hits, and Arcade Fire’s interactive Google Earth odyssey for ‘We Used To Wait’ was nothing short of stunning. These are merely promo vids though – what about engaging, interesting and dynamic developments in the field of live coverage?
Well … Professor Green has something he’d like to share with you. This live performance of ‘Remedy’ allows the viewer to leap inside the video and spin around a 360-degree view of the on-stage antics and wider arena – all while the performance continues in real-time. It works brilliantly – a simple and effortless (in terms of user implementation) idea. One can only imagine where such technology will take us next.
You can take a look by clicking the ‘get me on that stage’ tab in the video below. What do you guys think? Impressive or what?
