Even though they reunited in 2011 after a five-year hiatus (and embarked on a massive tour), there still hasn’t been any new material from California rock legends System Of A Down since 2005′s ‘Hypnotise’. This doesn’t mean that lead singer Serj Tankian has been resting on his laurels, however. He’s been carving out quite an impressive solo career, thrilling fans with the neo-progressive fusion of ‘Elect The Dead’ (2007) and symphonic odyssey ‘Imperfect Harmonies’ (2010).

Next week will see the release of Tankian’s third full-length studio album ‘Haraki’, which sees him combine his constantly evolving sound with a return to the up-tempo, hard-rock beats that made System Of A Down so popular. And it’s almost as if Tankian is busy making up for lost time too – he has no less than three other albums (‘Orca’, ‘Jazz-Lz-Christ’ and ‘Fuktronic’) in the pipeline.
