Here at BAMM.tv (your friendly neighborhood Music Discovery professionals) we’ve grown quite fond recently of Amsterdam’s young Afrofunk/crossover ambassadors Jungle By Night. Their unique blend of West-African (Nigerian, Ghanaian, Ethiopian, Malinese) music, infected with bits of Latin, Indonesian, Hiphop and Rock aesthetics is getting people on their feet and dancing to their anthems for hours on end.
In between legs of their continuing tour throughout Western Europe, they’ve found the time to record a killer debut album entitled “Hidden”, the follow up to their eponymous EP release from last year. It will be released on April 18th on the Kindred Spirits label, who have released plenty of significant jazz, African and dance records from the likes of Tony Allen, Sun Ra, Dorian Concept and Tom Trago.
BAMM.tv and Jungle By Night have taken a special interest in each other over the past few weeks. We’re not spilling the beans just yet, but keep your eyes and ears on our Social Media and the blog for some cool announcements concerning this fantastic band … soon!. In the meantime, give their new single “Ethiopino” a spin to get a taste for their fresh, funky and flavorsome sound.
