We asked our Featured Artist Tea Leaf Green to pick their personal highlights from the billion videos (okay, that might be a slight exaggeration, but lots and lots) featured in the archives. Tea Leaf Green: Their Personal Playlist

We asked our Featured Artist – the phenomenal Tea Leaf Green – to compile a playlist of five songs that totally rock their … erm … teacup (listen, you try to think of a tea pun). Their choices make for eclectic listening, featuring Van Halen’s ‘Hot For Teacher’, Rush’s ‘Time Stands Still’, The Coup’s ‘Guillotine’, The Beatles’ ‘Hard Days Night’ and the
Beastie Boys’ ‘Sabotage’

San Francisco’s Tea Leaf Green describe themselves as “newfangled Lost Boys, a traveling gang dedicated to seeking wisdom and experience in places both glorious and seedy”. This may sound opaque, but once you wrap your ears around their sound – playful, radio-ready yet adventurous pop-rock – you’ll get it. Don’t worry. It’s simply just “ultimately Rock and Roll”, they reflect, “improvisation with respect for the songs.”

BAMM TV: Lael Neale & Trevor Garrod, ‘Monster’

We certainly like to mix things up here at BAMM. For every bombastic, balls-to-the-wall extravaganza we present (ever seen HOTTUB?), we’re also fond of heading the other way: showcasing ephemeral, beautiful and intimate acoustic sessions from artists we love. The above video falls squarely in the latter category – the stunning Lael Neale is accompanied by Tea Leaf Green’s Trevor Garrod in a sensational performance of ‘Monster’. Kick back for a few minutes and enjoy – you owe it to yourself.

Want to see these guys live? Course you do. And if you head on over to Jambands you can check out their upcoming November tour dates.

Taken from their freshly-picked seventh album ‘Radio Tragedy’ (although a band who sound this good are anything but tragic), ‘Easy To Be Your Lover’ is a refreshingly playful rocker from SF five-piece Tea Leaf Green. Singer and guitarist Josh Clarke has mentioned that one of the band’s aims is to distance themselves from the “braggart auto-tuned rappers and inane teeny bop prop puppets that has come to rule and choke the life out of rock and roll.” Over the course of their time together – creating great music for a decade-plus now – no-one can say they haven’t done that! They dropped by the BAMM studios recently to treat us to an exclusive performance, which you can see above.
